Visitation is required before adoption.  To reserve a visitation appointment, a deposit of $30 is required.  If you miss your appointment without at least 24 hours advance notice, your deposit will be forfeited.  Prospective owners are allowed to reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance without losing the deposit.  If you decide not to adopt the pet after the visitation, your $30 deposit will be refunded.

A submitted adoption application does not guarantee adoption of the pet in question. Applications can be denied before or during visitation by any member of staff for the welfare of the pet in question. An adoption fee of $50 ($30 digital deposit, $20 paid in person) is required if adoption is approved.

New owner must bring necessary transport materials for safe travel (pet carrier, collar and leash, etc.). New pet owner will be provided records indicating current health of the pet, and will be required to read and sign paperwork releasing Missy's HEART from further financial responsibility for the adopted pet. Must be at least 18 years of age to sign paperwork.
