Educate Public and Improve Care at Home
Benjamin Franklin's famous quote "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is true in both human and veterinary medicine. Missy's HEART produces educational media (articles, videos, advertisements, etc.) to increase owner awareness of "best practices" when it comes to pet health. Missy's HEART also sponsors public seminars and other events with the intention of increasing the quality of pet care throughout our community.

Support Future Local Veterinarians
Our community is small and rural, and has fewer options for veterinary care than larger cities. Missy's HEART supports local students that want to enter the field of veterinary medicine as a vet, vet tech, or vet assistant to encourage these future veterinary professionals to practice in our community. Missy's HEART provides students with small scholarships and other opportunities - thus investing in the future care of our community's pets.

Foster Second Chances for Homeless Pets
Missy's HEART provides medical aid to homeless or surrendered pets that have special needs or medical conditions that would prohibit normal adoption. Homeless animals that are found sick or injured or pets that can no longer be cared for due to the financial demands of ongoing medical issues can be surrendered to Missy's HEART. We will rehabilitate the animal and work to get them into a loving home that can handle their medical needs.

Provide Assistance to Pet Owners in Need
Missy's HEART provides vouchers for veterinary services to pet owners who are struggling financially. Our vouchers cover a variety of medical needs, from spay/neuter to emergency surgery. Veterinary practices can redeem a voucher before, during, or immediately after the procedure - ensuring pets of low-income families can quickly get the care they need.
